A special NIA court in Jammu and Kashmir has ordered the immediate attachment of land belonging to Ghulam Nabi Fai, a US-based Kashmiri lobbyist and convicted agent of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Kashmiri separatist Ghulam Nabi Fai, who was arrested last year on charges of being a paid agent of the Inter Services Intelligence, has lied to the court about possessing a doctorate degree, a United States attorney has said. "Fai has no doctorate degree," United States Attorney Neil MacBride informed the court on Wednesday in a foot-note, of the 10-page submission to the US district court in Alexandria, Virginia.
Five Somalians have been sentenced to life followed by 80 years in prison for engaging in piracy and related offences for their attack on American frigate USS Nicholas.The Somalis were indicted on April 21 and were later charged with additional crimes in a 14-count superseding indictment.On April 1, 2010, Hasan, Ali and Dire boarded one of these smaller vessels and set out to pirate what they believed to be a merchant ship.
The moderate faction of the Hurriyat Conference on Saturday rubbished as a "figment of imagination" the claims made by United States attorney Neil H Macbride that its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was controlled by Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence. "The statement made by Macbride about the Mirwaiz is his figment of imagination and laughable," Hurriyat said in a statement.
